Paint Correction

For a myriad of reasons, over time our cars collect small swirls, scratches, and oxidation that dull the paint's otherwise glossy finish.  Anything that touches the paint poses the risk of marring (our hands, setting items on the hood or trunk, clothes brushing against fenders, poor washing technique, automatic car washes, etc.- These can all lead to a reduced appearance over time.

Even brand new cars are not immune. Cars are shipped to dealers in protective wrap or with a protective coating called Cosmoline that must be cleaned from the vehicle before flooring.  Often the dealership processes for removal introduces micro-marring or swirls.

Paint Correction is the process undertaken to address these issues and restore your paint's appearance to the best achievable levels.  Depending on the depth of a scratch, it may not be possible to safely remove through paint correction so it takes an experienced and skilled technician to assess each individual case.  â€‹

At Swerve, we offer 3 levels of Paint Correction, outlined below. We utilize paint depth and gloss meters along with our knowledge & experience to consult with you and select the paint correction package that best meets your needs, expectations, and budget.
Let's begin by defining what Paint Correction is and why you may need it:

Please Note:  A vehicle's paint must be thoroughly cleaned & decontaminated before undertaking any paint correction process.

Therefore, all paint correction packages include a Pinnacle Exterior Wash & this is reflected in the prices shown.

Level 1: The All-In-One

The All-In-One (AIO) package is a single step polishing process which incorporates use of a professional polishing product that has moderate defect removal ability, and good polishing capacity.  It also leaves behind a long lasting sealant that protects the paint, adds hydrophobics (water-beading), and gloss to your paint's finish.  The sealant lasts 3-6 months depending on the vehicle's exposure conditions and use.

For Level 1 Correction, we typically see around 50% defect removal.

Once completed, we apply a 12-Month ceramic sealant, or better yet, we highly recommend a Ceramic Coating to add years of protection and shine.

This is then followed up by a separate jeweling/polishing process, where a fine finishing polish is used to maximize gloss and remove any swirls that may be left over from compounding.

Once completed, we apply a 12-Month ceramic sealant, or better yet, we highly recommend a
Ceramic Coating to add years of protection and shine.
